Only when the time comes, you forget to send it. Depending on the importance of the message you forgot to send, you may not be affected at all or be shaken. If only there was a way to schedule your messages, like you can with your email. Well, if you are using an Android phone, you can. If you are suffering from "forgot to send a message" syndrome, here is how to schedule SMS on Android in 2022.
Schedule SMS on Android
To schedule SMS on Android, you can use two ways. The first is to use the built-in functionality provided by the Google Messages app and some Android OEMs like Samsung, Xiaomi, and LG. The second involves the use of third-party SMS apps that can be used to schedule SMS on any Android smartphone. We've included both of these methods so you can jump to the section you want to read.
Using the built-in message scheduling feature (Google Messages, Samsung, LG and Xiaomi)
As I mentioned earlier, the Messages app from Google and some OEMs includes this feature natively. Samsung, LG and Xiaomi are known to have this feature on their handsets. One thing to note, however, is that not all of their services have this feature. Also, if you purchased a carrier-locked phone, integrating this feature separately will also depend on your mobile carrier.
Google Messages
Get started with the steps involved in scheduling messages using Google Messages. Open the Messages app, type the message you want to send, and press and hold the send button. You will now see a pop-up prompting you to choose a date and time to schedule the message delivery. If you don't see the pop-up, make sure the Messages app has been updated to the latest version available on the Google Play Store. You can choose one of the suggested times or choose the date and time manually.
If you choose to set the date and time manually, tap "Select date and time" and use the date and time picker. When done, tap Next to continue.
The preview now appears with the time and date you just selected. You can now press "Save" to confirm the changes. The final step is to press the Send button again to schedule the message delivery.
If you later change your mind or want to update your message, you can tap the clock icon present to the left of the scheduled message and select 'Update Message. ' You also have the option to send the message immediately or delete the scheduled message.
Samsung Messages
To check if your custom theme smartphone has this feature, open any message or conversation in the native messaging app, tap the checkmark button plus, then tap the "Schedule a message" option. Messages MIUI

If you can't find the scheduling option on your Android device using any of these methods, you can do a simple search on Google and you'll know if your OEM supports it. If your smartphone's OEM does not provide this feature natively, you will need to use a third-party app to use it

Do Later is one of the newest message scheduler apps on play store and it is also one of the best. The app not only allows users to schedule text messages, but also emails, calls, and tweets. If you don't want to schedule messages but just want to be reminded of them, you can also set reminders directly in the app. What I like most about this app is its ease of use. Just launch the app and then tap the "+" button. You'll see all the scheduling options to choose from, including message, email, Twitter, and more. Since we want to schedule message delivery, we'll hit the message icon.
Once done, you can add contacts (one or more) and compose your message. Below you can decide the exact time of the message or choose a time period. Finally, you can set the message to repeat. The time range feature is especially useful if you send repeated messages because it sends messages at random times so they don't seem automatic.
