Whataburger celebrates its birthday on Tuesday and invites everyone to the party.
National Whataburger Day, as the burger chain calls it, celebrates the company's 73-year history. At the end of July, the company announced a series of events and promotions to coincide with the celebration, some of which might give you a free burger.
'Whataburger fans are real. They wrap their babies in Whataburger taquito sheets, propose to the wedding with french fries, bring their prom after prom, and even create beautiful artwork inspired from our orange and white stripes,” the company wrote in a press release. "It's a love like no other - and one that we believe deserves to be celebrated on the national stage."

Here's how to get a Free Whataburger
Participating locations Whataburger will offer Whataburger on Tuesdays, but only for program members reward.
Those who want to participate must download the Whataburger app and create a rewards account.
Free Whataburgers requires no purchase of other items, although customers must have placed at least one order on the app in the past year to be eligible for the promotion.
The chain is also giving away a limited number of Whataburger Day opening table tents to customers who visit their restaurant on the anniversary.

The beloved Texas staple celebrated its 73rd birthday on Tuesday by declaring National Whataburger Day as August 8. To mark the event, the San Antonio-based chain offered anyone a free Whataburger through the Whataburger app rewards program.
But around midday, some social media users expressed frustration that they couldn't log into the Whataburger app or received an error message.

A CBS News Texas producer was also having trouble accessing the Whataburger app to place an order.
Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, Whataburger released a statement acknowledging the problems.
'Wow, you really ruined our lunch party! We apologize for this inconvenience. Our app is back up and running. If you are at our restaurant, our family members will take care of you and our customer service team is working hard to accommodate the people you have contacted. Thanks for celebrating with us today! You've made our 73 years great and we can't wait to see what lies ahead!" the statement reads their free burger
After returning to Colorado last year, Whataburger plans to open more locations
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo . — Whataburger declared National Whataburger Day on Tuesday, and the chain is celebrating in style.
Whataburger says all active Whataburger app users are eligible for a free burger on Tuesday.
The Texas-based burger chain has rapidly grown its presence in Colorado since returning to the state for the first time in decades.
Last year, Whataburger opened a branch in February, September and November in Colorado Springs. Whataburger continues to grow in Colorado in June with its fifth restaurant in the state.
The new restaurant is located at 2550 Montebello Square Drive in northeast Colorado Springs.
Run by the BurgerWorks Colorado franchise, the company has two other Whataburger locations it plans to open this year in Colorado Springs and Monument:

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) — Whataburger fans are real people. Texans near and far can rejoice because Tuesday is National Whataburger.
Whataburger Managing Partner David Espinoza joined The Three to share how the popular dining chain celebrated the occasion with loyal customers.
"Seventy-three years ago we were founded by Harmon Dobson of Corpus Christi, and today we celebrate it with all of our guests and family members," Espinoza said.
Prepaid is what Whataburger has been doing for decades. Their latest program, Nurturing Student Success, is their way of giving back to the community.
"We're raising $73,000 to clear student meal debt in every community we serve," Espinoza said.
