Deleting downloads on Android is easier than it seems
Although modern phones have a large amount of memory, it is, unfortunately, “not rubber”. Therefore, sooner or later the question of removing unnecessary information in order to download another necessary media file is on the agenda.
All files on gadgets can usually be found through the application of the same name. This text will discuss how to work with it.
What steps to take:
- Open the Files app on your mobile.
- A list of downloads will open.
- To understand the download date or the size (the number of megabytes occupied), click on the “More” icon and on the “Sort” item. If there is no such option, you can click on the “Changed” button or on the icon in the form of three horizontal bars of different lengths.
- After reviewing the entire batch of downloaded files and selecting “victims” to remove, look for the “Delete” icon. It can be just a button with text or a trash can icon. Also, Delete can be hidden under the More button.
Also, if you don’t want to say goodbye to a picture, song, text document or e-book, you can move them to Google Drive to free up space. To do this, you should open the file, and then select the available actions in the upper right corner of the screen. And again, they may be hiding under the “More” icon.
In addition, files from the phone are easily transferred to the computer using a USB cable. Files stored on your device are available in Downloads. Copy what you need and transfer it to your computer. After copying successfully, clear the Downloads folder.

In this brand, the downloaded positions can be found in the system folder of the same name, and then by going to the “My Files” program. After opening “My files”, the user sees a structured menu. The built-in storage or memory card, if installed, is viewed separately.
You can go to the Downloads folder without any problems. And then, among the list, pinch the files to be deleted, and select the “Delete” option in the pop-up menu.
But simply deleting in this case is not enough. The selected files will disappear from the shared list and move to the trash. They are stored there for 30 days. To open the basket, click on the three vertical dots and select an item. The system deletes the files itself when the term expires. If you need space “here and now”, then in the basket, press again on the three vertical dots and clean the contents.
