Samsung Galaxy S23 specifications leak

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is in many ways a continuation of the S22 – meaning it follows largely the same specifications, barring a few component updates.

Yesterday, we got our first look at Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 performance, which showed a promising Geekbench score. However, it also revealed that the 2023 model will have 8GB of RAM, just like the 2022, 2021 and 2020 phones.

Leakster Yogesh Brar shared a brief description of the Galaxy S23 specifications and they tell the same story – 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage. The new model will have a larger 3,900 mAh battery, which is more compared to the S22, but not the S21 or S20 (both 4,000 mAh). And it will support the same old 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Both Samsung and Apple are quite conservative when it comes to charging speeds for their smartphones, especially the smaller models.

Going forward, the new phone will have a 50-megapixel primary camera (with OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 10-megapixel selfie camera. These are the same cameras as the S22, although new sensors and optics may be involved. It will definitely require new processing thanks to a more powerful chipset.

Finally, the phone will sport a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, but no LTPO. At least that’s what the rumors say. Ice Universe claims the bezels will be a fraction of a millimeter thicker, but that’s not all.

In the renders, we saw that the design will be redesigned to be more in line with the S22 Ultra (the S23 Ultra will look mostly the same). We’ve also seen this in the design of the cases – there’s no longer a camera compartment, only individual lenses stick out from the back.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 used the S20’s cameras, but housed them in a redesigned body. The S22 reused the design but upgraded the cameras. Now we have a new design and the same cameras. This seems to be Samsung’s update frequency for the Galaxy S series, at least for the base model and the plus version. At the moment, one big question remains: will the S23 series exclusively use Snapdragon chipsets or if the Exynos team has convinced their colleagues to give them another chance.
